About The Recovery Project 2020

Looking to learn a little bit more about our project? We're excited to share! We initiated the Recovery Project 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We saw so many people in our community struggling with unemployment and we knew we had to react. The idea was born at the Wood Dale Public Library where librarians began creating a customized program to address the unique needs of people living in our area. We know how difficult it can be to find good, high-paying jobs without a degree, so we've stepped up to find the best local opportunities and share them with you. In May, we received the Public Library Association's Libraries Lead with Digital Skills grant, an opportunity to fund a program that connects you with the support you need to succeed. Google is a grant co-sponsor and we are excited to share all of the free Google resources to jumpstart your professional and academic careers. We partnered with the Bensenville Public Library to bring resources from the Recovery Project 2020 to those in our neighboring community because we believe that together, we can achieve more.

Whether you're looking to make a career change, fund your continuing education or learn new technology skills, the Recovery Project 2020 is here to help. If you ever need assistance filling out a job application, determining whether a job post is legitimate, preparing for an interview or finding resources to fund your education, call your local library and we will be there to help. To reach out to the librarians at Wood Dale, please call (630) 766-6762 and select "0" to be connected to a staff member. We are available to help Monday - Thursday 10:00am to 8:00pm and Friday-Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm. You can also reach out to librarians at the Bensenville Public Library by calling (630) 677-4642. They are available Monday-Thursday from 10:00am to 8:00pm and Friday 10:00am to 4:00pm. If you would like to ask a question, send in your resume for review or share concerns with us, email recoveryproject2020@gmail.com and one of our librarians will get back to you within 24 hours. We are in this together.
