Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Hours: Full-Time: Monday-Friday 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., overtime and on-call as needed, to include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Salary: $55,845 annually

There is one (1) position open at this time.

Responsibilities include:
• Diagnose, adjust, repair and overhaul a wide variety of automotive and heavy equipment
• Repair and maintain light duty trucks, heavy duty trucks, snow and ice removal equipment, tractors, street sweepers, trailers and other heavy construction equipment
• Diagnose, repair and overhaul diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, differentials, hydraulic systems, steering and suspension, electrical and HVAC systems
• Perform welding and fabricating tasks as needed
• Perform preventative maintenance checks and repairs of County vehicles, road testing vehicles for proper operating levels, and diagnosing drivability and emission systems
• Respond to roadway service calls for broken down equipment and vehicles
• Clean and maintain the workshop, pick up parts, and record vehicle maintenance history

Salary: $31,000-$33,000 annually

There are currently two (2) full-time positions open at this time.

Responsibilities include:
• Assists individuals in focusing on needs, and with identifying problems
• Screens clients for eligibility for programs or services offered and completes calls
• Completes intakes with call-in clients by gathering demographic, income, assets and needs information
• Enters demographics into the appropriate database
• Provides advocacy and short-term crisis intervention for persons in extreme states of stress and refers them to appropriate resources
• Mails, texts or emails resource information when needed and follows up with individuals and/or referral agency to assure client needs are met
• Conducts inquiries and basic research to determine if unknown types of services are available
• Compiles data on the number of calls, follow-up calls, source of referrals and tabulates required reports for review by supervisor
• Performs community outreach in the form of public speaking and attends social service related programs

Salary: $43,500 annually

There are two (2) positions open at this time.

Responsibilities include:
•    Performs a variety of horticultural tasks including mowing, pruning, planting and transplanting
•    Mixes and applies pesticides and fertilizers
•    Performs turf renovation by core certification and over seeding
•    Removes damaged sod and installs new sod
•    Cultivates and maintains planting beds, tree rings, etc.
•    Performs plowing, loading and hauling of snow from County grounds including roadways, parking facilities, walks and entry ways
•    Loads and applies de-icing chemicals
•    Hauls and moves materials, supplies, furnishings, and machinery
•    Operates a variety of equipment such as: small dump truck, snowplow, snow blower, salt spreader, sod cutter, rototiller, chain saw, trimmers, sweeper, front end loader, backhoe, forklift, a variety of hand tools
•    Services and maintains a wide variety of tools, machinery, and vehicles including tune up, oil change, cylinders, blades, and tires
•    Repairs and installs electrical systems in vehicles
•    May use a variety of shop equipment including welder, sandblaster, grinder, cutting torch, air sprayer, power washer, mechanical hand tools, etc.
•    Installs seasonal equipment
•    Locates and removes refuse from County property; installs signs, performs traffic control duties
