Employment Opportunity: County of DuPage: Education & Community Engagement Coordinator

Hours: Full-Time: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Salary: $50,000-$55,000 annually

There is one (1) position open at this time.

Responsibilities include:
• Researches, develops, and presents effective educational programs regarding humane animal care to the general public
• Develops and delivers training courses for staff and volunteers
• Builds a network of community leaders, businesses, law enforcement agencies, schools, and parents that promote education opportunities through DuPage County Animal Services (DCAS) and supports programs as participants or presenters
• Identifies, organizes, and attends special events to positively promote DCAS programs and initiatives
• Develops an annual education and outreach plan with specific objectives, proposed schedule, budget projections and evaluation strategy
• Makes recommendations on the creation of new education opportunities or revisions to current programs to ensure program goals are met
• Ensures the safety of education program participants and animals
• Schedules, organizes, sets up and implements outreach programs, including offsite presentations, scout meetings, shelter tours, and other community engagement events
• Provides support and direction to DCAS volunteers
• Advertises programs and services on social media and other marketing outlets
• Serves as project lead for design and content of newsletters
